Sehaj-Santokh

Guru Sehaj te Santokh da Sarovar hai ! Gursikh nit Amrit vele es Sarovar vich ishnaan karda hai. Guru Kirpa sadka apni Sehaj/Santokh di dose, Guru Vaid kolo le ke oh poora din Nimarta vich guzarda hai, jisde naal usnu Simran karan vich koi badha nahi aandi.

"Mera Baid Guru Govinda, Har Har Naam Aukhad mukh deve, Kaate Jam ki fandha." (Sorath Mahela 5)

Infact, je manukh vich Sehaj/Santokh na hove, te oh hamesha irritated/disturbed/krodhit rehnda hai. On the contrary, je manukh vich Sehaj/Santokh hove, te oh vadi to vadi Durghantna nu vi Waheguru da hukam man ke raji rehnda hai. Eh hai Sache Prem di nishani! Kadi try kar ke vekho, jis din aap ji nu Amrit vele Simran karan da Anand prapat hove, us din aap ji sare din Anand vich rahoge te sab Karaj bina vighan poore ho jaange. Asi Guru charna vich eh ardaas kariye, ki sanu Santokh/ Mann da tikaav/ Ikagar Chit bakshan, taki duniyavi kam karde hoye vi Daate nu bhul na jayiye.

Glossary :

1) Man da tikav : A state of being, where even though the human is seeing with his eyes, listening with his ears, speaking with his tounge, but such seeing, listening or speaking does not have a negative impact on his thoughts. Such Mahapurakhs are able to overcome any evil thought and shall always be thanking God for everything he gave.

"Par Dhan Dokh Kich Paap na Phere, Jamm Jandhar na aawe nerhe" (Dhanasari Mahela 5 Ghar 12)

2) Ikagar Chit : Almost all of us have asked this question at some point of time "Mann kyu nahi tikda?" Sounds familiar, isn't it! Actually Mann is not a hardware, that one can put behind the bars and restrict it. Its a software, made up of complex programmes called human thoughts. So, apparently it has got to be won with thoughts. That is why Gurmukh pyare often say "Bani pado/suno/vicharo, shudh vichara padhoge/sunoge/vicharoge, te mann di duvidha mit jayegi" No wonder, Gurbani has such a calming effect to our soul. Its as if, our Mann is a horse and Gurbani its rein. Gurbani puts blinkers to this horse, so that the Mann can overrule any evil thoughts which it confronts.

I am sure, most of you would be able to define these terms in much more elaborate words. Kindly excuse me for the limitation of Vocabulary and Budh.

Bhulan chukan di khima,

Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa,
Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh !
